For the past few years, our regular composer, Vitalis Eirich, has composed all the new tunes in the Age of Empires series. But his passion for the game goes on!
For the next few weeks, Vitalis has decided he’ll be re-arranging some of the classic tunes of the original Age of Empires II soundtracks. Which songs will be re-arranged, is up to you though! If you’d like to vote which classic tune deserves a fresh lick of paint, head over to Vitalis’ Facebook page to cast your vote:

As a little teaser, here’s a song he pimped up last year. A re-arrangement of the Age of Kings finale, “Tazer”.
Wow!I have been waiting for this since his Tazer version
Wow sounds geat! it would be good that randomy apears the winter background from The Conquerors. Good to have news from you guys!!!
Bass bag!!! Please do it, it’s my favorite bgm in the game
I think that the new music should be optional. I mean, if I get tired of the new versions and i want to get back to the old version of the music, I should be able to change it with a click in the options menu.
To avoid all confusion: this is indeed not an effort to replace the classic tunes, but just to re-arrange them for the enjoyment of the fans 🙂 The new songs won’t be part of the game, a workshop mod at most!
Ah, ok. Thanks for the clarification.
But these are awesome, you gotta put them in the game! Unless making it optional from the menu is too wonky for the engine
Oh, this stuff is awesome! We can never have enough and this is getting better and better! Love it! 🙂
I would prefer if he were to rearrange the Chinese theme he did for Tale of the Dragon. It’s a fine piece, but it sounds like it belongs in a completely different game. According to the Post-Mortem blog, having all the new stuff from the expansion fit in with the rest of the game was high priority, so how did that track slip through the cracks?
It could maybe fit in with AoE III or something, but AoM (and AoK, for that matter) have very unique musical style, and are among my favorite soundtracks ever.
