It’s been a while since we brought you news from the Age of Empires II universe, but we’re just in time for an early Christmas surprise!
Age of Empires II HD has been conquering the world for 17 years now and is finally setting foot ashore Southeast Asia!
On the 19th of December, we welcome Age of Empires II HD: Rise of the Rajas!
With four fresh new civs to conquer the world, four fresh campaigns and hordes of elephants, you’re sure to have plenty of wololo’s for years to come.

Launch Events
We’re only six days away from unleashing hordes of elephants on the world, but we’re not going to make you wait that long to get a taste of the new greatness in store; Here’s a breakdown of this week’s upcoming events:
- ZeroEmpires and the rest of the crew at Escape Gaming are putting on the Battle for Angkor tournament on December 17–18! This tournament, featuring some of the world’s top Age of Empires II players, will be streamed live for all to see right here on the brand-new Escape Twitch channel! More details coming soon.
- We will be publishing a new sneak peek each day until release. Each day from the 14th till the 17th we will reveal details on each of the new civilizations.
- We’ll have a countdown-to-launch stream featuring special guests, including devs from Skybox Labs and Forgotten Empires, on the official Age of Empires Twitch and Beam channels on December 19. More details coming soon!
I’ll be buying this day 1 to support you guys, but I really hope you go back to Europe sometime.
Base AoE2 lacked a lot of good Germanic civs like the Habsburgs and the Swiss.
Poland is worthy of its own civ too.
But I’m happy that more expansions are coming out regardless.
Hasburgs are a dynasty, not a civilization…
Ensemble Devs mention them as a potential civ. All forgotten empires Dev expansions have been based on what the ensemble team were thinking of adding to the game.
Omfg why are the units shaking in the 4.8 patch??? Fix this please!
Every f*cking unit is SHAKING WHEN THEY MOVE because of the new patch. It looks hideous, fix it, I would do it myself if I knew how, UNACCEPTABLE.

Italian and Magyar buildings look different. Could you fix this buildings to look as good as African and Rajas DLCs buildings? New buildings look amazing.
here is some bugs i have noticed
Saladin mission 2. Aquaba and Medina trade carts should move between eachother.
Dracula mission 3 doesn’t work at all. The game just crash.
Dracula mission 4: After a while, The enemy will stop sending units to
attack me, so the kill 500 enemy objective is impossible to complete. +
at the ending, one of the monks stuck, so the game won’t progress,
because he can’t talk to dracula.
i hope in the next update will fix them 🙂
Where is the Siam? and why are there knights in southeast asian civs? The Vietnamese should have firearms instead of other southeast asian civs. If Philippines were to be added, it should have their own architecture since they were Malays but was influenced by spanish architecture in 1570’s and had a unique unit called the Lantaka (handcannoneer unit, great against elephants) and no battle elephants. Furthermore I would like to ask if they were to be added. We need more missing civs from europe, mid east, africa (egypt, if possible it should be a monk civ with a unique unit… Read more »
It would be cool if you guys developed some Mercenary Camps which you can hire pre unique units that had their own similarities with existing units example: Samurai- Merc Ronin/Shinobi, Plumed Archer- Blowgunner, Berserk- Pirate, Dragonship- Pirateship, Woad Raider-Bandit. We all know Italians has their work on mercenaries but would it be great if all players can hire it from an independent guild? sorry if my english is bad.
