Xi Wang Mu is a goddess of great power and one of the oldest in existence. She lives on Mount Kunlun, and is matriarch of the West. She has a counterpart, the Queen Mother of the East, and both are attested in Shang oracle bones from the 15th C. BC onwards.
She once guarded a vial of the elixir of life, which she granted to Houyi the Archer after his banishment so that he and his wife Chang’e might live forever in peace. Sadly, Chang’e drank all of the elixir and ascended to the Moon, leaving Houyi behind on Earth.
Myth Unit
White Tiger: Leaps into combat.
The White Tiger, also known as the White Tiger of the West, is a mythological creature representing the Metal element and the autumn season. As the tiger was considered the king of all beasts by ancient cultures, the legends speak of its tail turning white as the creature reached the age of 500 years. It is the guardian of righteousness and only appears to rulers of the highest virtues.
The Earth Dragon, Dilong, likes to play whack-a-mole with his foes. He can be summoned thrice before returning to the earth permanently.
God Power
Earth Dragon: Xi Wangmu sends Dilong, the Earth Dragon, to defend her followers. The Earth Dragon can be placed anywhere on land and attacks anything that dares to come near. He only appears temporarily but can be summoned again, even when slain.
Unique Technologies
- Golden Peaches: Xi Wangmu increases the hitpoints of all your Castle Units.
- Celestial Palace: Xi Wangmu increases the hitpoints of your Castles, and makes them train units faster.
- Tiger Spirit: Xi Wangmu improves the hitpoints and speed of your White Tigers.

Why no Black Tortoise?
We went for the Dragon Turtle instead, since the resemblance of the Black Tortoise with Thoth’s War Turtle would’ve been a little too uncanny otherwise.
That was my guess. Though a tortoise could be a land unit.
imo doesn’t matter if Thoth grants a similar looking unit, they’re the 4 symbols, not 3.5 symbols.
any crash can’t be worse than the same freaking egyptian birdman re-appearing as 3 different units (Avenger, Son of Osiris, Titan).
i’m also surprised that Shennong the Flame Emperor has no access to inferno :/

This still make this the civilization with the least number of myth units. I think, as the guy below me suggested, it would have been nice to have the black tortoise. I mean, I really don’t see why there’s only one myth unit per god besides au kuong.
The same amount as the Norse actually! (mainly because of Hel, who reuses the Giants from other Gods)
Oh, I had actually counted the Nidhogg along with their myth units since it is more of a myth unit than a god power.
At least they all seem to be pretty varied – it’s a bit tenuous calling hydra and scylla separate units, same for servant and caladria. As long as azure dragon and dragon turtle are different in more than just location, I think it’s still good.
These annoying people are only complaining. Anything is never good enough ¬¬
Giving constructive criticism on a product many of us plan on buying is not the same thing as complaining. I for one am very excited for this DLC, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to mindlessly praise everything they show.
I do not prayse everything they show. I just don’t understand so many people complaining. They can’t put the whole China in the game.
We don’t want the whole of China in the game, and trust me we are all very excited by the prospect of a new expansion and faction to this classic title. However many of us are concerned about the quality of some of the new art which are inconsistent with that of the original game, such as the portraits. So, the Earth Dragon god power can be used thrice? I thought it was mentioned that there weren’t any multiple use god-powers? Or am I misremembering or misunderstanding what is written?
I think they said “at that time” they were all single use. Sneaky ;P
It works a little different than other multiple-use GPs. In the way that you cannot have 3 Dragons on the map at the same time. It’s tough to put a label on it, but you could say this one is multi-use in a way. 🙂

Probably not a god I will use much. I kinda expected that from when the tiger was announced – just not as interesting as other options. Still, the troop upgrades seem pretty solid so I certainly wont be avoiding her.

I have no idea of modding, but I guess having a long serpentine-like dragon would have been troublesome for playability, since it would occupy more space and thus could block other units from walking by, for example. When I say long, I mean longer than the Behemoth MU, otherwise it would have looked like a sausage dog.

The only thin bugging me is that the white tiger looks like a big wild animal. Will his appearance change anyhow after upgrading him through the Tiger Spirit improvement? I realy hope it does.
From the twitch stream, he looked MUCH bigger than the average animal, plus his attack is different.
There’s the Titan on the minimap, but we’ll have to discover how it looks from tomorrow on 🙂

Lol. I think it could have been embellished a bit more. The muscles look a little undefined. In fact, Pan Gu should be hairy. I think that would have been cooler :3
