Cenotes


Open rushing map (Arabia style) with a standard set of resources. Small lakes are scattered around all over the map and provide little fish.

Land of Lakes


Semi-closed water map. Galley rushing can prove fatal on the wrong lake, and fishing on the right one can mean a great boost for your economy. Rather easy to wall, but transports are possible from all sides.

Hideout


Players start in their little hideout camp in the forest. You’ll have to break free to conquer your foes.

Budapest


A spiced up version of your everyday map, starting with two town centers.

Steppe


Nomadic map, players start out with a few yurts and 3 extra villagers. An abundance of hunt wanders on the plains in the center of the map.

Valley


Semi-open map. A dried up river runs through the middle, with herds of deer trying to drink from the last puddles that run along the sandy shore. If you want to hunt, you’ll have to go there. But you won’t be alone…

Hill Fort

Lombardia

  1. i have a complain:
    there is a big problem of resources(wood, Gold, & stone) in your map…
    u add 1000 population.. it will useless when resources are so low :(
    please.. do some thing about it and increase it.. :x

    • They are included in FE, from map style you have to select “custom”(rather than starndart), after that on location you choose one of the new maps to play.

        • Those maps aren’t scenarios, they are “random maps”. That means that they are computer-generated and you can’t edit them in the scenario editor.
          So what Yan means is that you can select those maps in the lobby. You have to choose “Map Style: Custom” and then below that you can choose from the new maps.
          If you mean where to find them in the folders, they are located here: Age of Empires II\Games\Forgotten Empires\Script.RM .

I don’t know if this has been suggested already, or if it’s possible, but a ‘Forgotten Empires Full Random’ option that included these maps, or ‘Forgotten Empires Random Land Map’ would be great, I often overlook the new maps because they’re buried away in the custom folder, which puts any given map at least two mouse-clicks remove from standard settings. Two. Anyway, it would also be good to randomise between them.

  3. Hey,
    Upon seeing this I thought MegaRandom to be a tool that generates a completely random map out of itself, which would be very awesome. If I try it though, it will always come up with a very standard map, almost symmetrical, surrounded by forests. Is this supposed to be? Because I’d really love to see an entirely random map, so that upon starting the game you have literally no idea what to expect in the fog. Might be a bit too optimistic though. I’d like to hear your thoughts.

  4. I have the the Steam edition of TF which has the Alaric, Dracula, Sforza, and Bari campaigns, and the mod version, which seems to lack most of these. Are there plans on updating the mod version to include all of the campaigns? And to anyone curious, I have both because I bought the Steam version while I thought I had lost my cd, which I then reinstalled after finding it and realizing that I couldn’t mod the executable for the Steam version.
