Civilizations

Set sail to Venice, shed off the burden of the Barbarian invasions that have torn your beloved peninsula apart after the collapse of the Roman Empire. Take the role as general of one of the Italian republics that emerged in the chaos and reinstate the might that once shone from your lands. Genoa, Venice, Pisa, Ragusa, Amalfi or even the Papal states. The choice is yours which history to write.

Wage war on the colorful Indian subcontinent, the lands of a thousand kingdoms and sultanates. Put vast armies under your command, spiced up with Camels and Elephants to terrify the invaders of your homeland. Prosperity is hard fought, yet, your culture will stand the test of time.

The icy plains of Eastern Europe have more under their thick crust of permafrost than meets the eye. After the dissolution of the Mongolian Golden Horde and the emerging of the Khanates, the eyes of the newly formed empires set their eyes upon the west. Thundering hooves of Kievan and Moscovite cavalry, escorted by large squadrons of men at arms terrify the established kingdoms on the horizon.

Lead the mighty Black Army over the Hungarian plains and command the fiercest cavalry forces that Europe has ever witnessed in the Middle Ages. The old continent has never been at peace during the Middle Ages, and the Magyars, being the gateway from the Western to the Eastern world surely had their share of epic battles.

Relive the glories of the most extended medieval empire ever to have spread its influence over South America. Conquer Cuzco, lead your armies along the shores of lake Titicaca, defend your wealth and heritage from the invading Conquistadors and erect mighty structures to withstand the test of time.

  1. Well there is one Folk in Europe you forgot in your Expansion which exactly fits in this Era, they were predating the Byzantines. After the destruction of the Byzantine Empire all Nations under the Byzantine started making their own Kingdoms.

I’m talking about Principality of Arbër (Arbëria, from the beginning of the Middle Ages till XII-th Century)[1], which later became Kingdom of Albania [2] (from XII-XIII), which became Princedom of Albania [3] and than League of Lezhë [4], With the famous leader Gjer Kastrioti Skanderbeg[5].

  2. Hi to community and happy Easter,
I like those new civs they are unique and generally balanced with exception of boyars. They are super tanks invulnerable to anything. Even camels and pikes aren’t that good countering them. They are far stronger than lets say cataphracts even if cataphs have bonus against infantry. Well cataps are ok, but upgrade is too expensive. Elites should have at least 13 att and 3 melee armour, because they aren’t worthy to upgrade now. Also they have no access to blast furnace and bloodlines too(which would be OP). What do you think?

  3. And add more teams like “Pakistan” Please…
and Pakistan castle unite will “camel warrior with gun” and chose name as what u like..
if u Add Pakistan Team.. Indians & Pakistani both will become thankful & happy..
i will All time play Pak vs India :D
    so please think about it
    Thankyou.. :)

  4. magyars are good civ, can be used in 1v1 ara/rlm/fr etc…..i put them up with hun/mayan/china/az/mong ……

slavs and italians are nice too, both really strong in imp/tg!

i just finally instaleld this 2 days ago and i really like it, i think its gayer than aids that ppl arent playing it, it really makes no sense to me….its aoc but better.

  5. The Civs here are really really great, but the cultural structure should be changed…

It doesn’t make sence to make civs which were not independent or were for a short time … i would like to get these they have already make more extended.::

    we have already:

4 west-european civs (Franks, Bretons, Kelts, Spanish).. CLASSIC.. —>finished chapter..

4 Middle-europeans (Vikings [actually northern, but thats ok], Teutons, Goths, Huns [actually eastern...]) CLASSIC —>finished chapter

4 Asians (Chinese, koreans, Japanese, Mongols) ..CLASSIC.. —> finished chapter

5 orientals (Sarazens, byzantines [christians under the orientals], persians, turks, and now “Indians”[actually more asian, but..]) ..indians great, but 1 civ too much in this cultural category.. but ok, someone liked it, someone made it ;-) ..—> finished chapter

3 early “amerikan” civs (Azteks, Mayans, incas).. Incas… really good.. —>finished chapter

2 EAST-Europeans but look different (Slavs, magyars)

    1 SOUTH-European (italians)

    SUGGESTIONS:
    ———————————————–
Slavs are more a cultural belonging than a Civ:
–> So i would use it more as a culture and change or split the slavs into russians, polish or bulgars… which had Kingdoms for a long time, or just 2 of them…
with the same looking buildings but different elite-units like in the civs before..
i wouldn’t make boehemians, coz they belonged to the “Holy Roman (german) Empire.

magyars are great, but alone..this can’t be changed…

Italians–> same as slavs… cultural belonging not a civ.
sholud be split in 2 or 3 italian civs.. which WERE different.. (neapel? Venice? Milano?)

So the game would look more balanced…
    —-
there doesnt make sence to make a sixt oriental civ like Pakistan or again a lonly civ like Albania which was a kingdom for a short time… or something else…

    SO-> we have

    • Define a civ ;) It’s all a construct, there are no objective measures to do this. As such, we believe the Slavic civilization is a nice term to cover whatever country that builds upon / identifies itself with the Slavic culture. In the same vein the Italian civ can be put labelled as one civ, even though there was no unification of the peninsula untill the 19th century.

You can’t simply project modern states on the civs of AoC/FE, nor give every medieval kingdom (or god forbid entity) its own civ. We’d end up with hundreds of civs with no unique feeling.

At more importantly: we already have our hand full with the current civ additions. It’s highly unlikely that we release new ones in the near future.

  6. Finns (Finnish nowadays) would be great. I know that Finns weren’t important and independent, but they were pretty unique and they had great culture.

Their unique unit would be hackapell, cavalry with average armor and great attack. I’m not sure about the unique techs, but I’ll think about it ;)

I’m don’t say “Add Finns PLEASE PLEASE!!!” cause I know that this idea may not be good or Finns are just too puny for this game, but I would be pleased if you add them.
