We probably don’t have a lot of Ethiopian fans, but we’d still like to wish them a happy national day! May the Ethiopians reign supreme on the Age of Empires II battlefields today!
How have you guys been enjoying the Ethiopians so far? Do you prefer to swarm the battlefield with Shotel Warriors or do you rather make use of their heavy Siege equipment? Or maybe you like to deploy their nimble Archers? We’re curious to hear!
Ethiopia is a facinating country I wish to visit some day.
To me the best of the civ is the extra AoE on siege.
what about a Bantu civ?
I love spamming Shotel warriors. I love spamming cheap units in general.
sos de Argentina?
Good civ! Rather balanced imo
The new AK civs offer a lot of possibilities with their open tech trees, except maybe the cavalry-oriented Berbers. As for the Ethiopians, all I can say is my fav AK game so far was a 3 v 3 as the Ethiopians in that Horn of Africa map. Unfortunately, it wasn’t recorded.
Amazing the Ethiopians aren’t classified as an archer and siege civ. Opening a path through the woods with their siege onagers is so much fun.
Happy National Day too, Portuguese civ… May your accurate gunpowder shots win many victories today!
Hi guys, I know that it was requested many times, but did you ever consider making more varied skins of generic units of different cultures? I mean, if we have building architecture, it would be awesome to see more diverse looking generic units. The european halberdiers and champions in mayan roster looks pretty unrealistic. I would like to see more unique skins for every civilisation sets. Like the middle east civs would have more arabish-looking light cavalry, some sabre infantry rather than champions, just a different skins, no stats changes. It would add a lot of fun to the gameplay… Read more »
The generic units are indeed heavily inspired by Frankish designs, but since the original models are mostly lost, we’re not planning on making unique skins for each civilization. The generic skins help players recognize the units instantaneously as well, so from a design point of view, the current system really has some merits too 🙂
i was wishing for it for a while ad i was wondering if you could make it an optional feature if its not too hard, since many , many fans want this.
