Hey everyone!
It’s been a while, but it’s time to break the silence! Microsoft has just announced continued support for Age of Empires II. Including a new expansion pack later this year, featuring new civs, campaigns, maps, units, techs, etc… And we’re happy to help them develop that new expansion with the help of SkyBox Labs. 😀
We’ll release more information on the new content as it’s being developed, so stay tuned! Although we can already share a first sneaky screenshot.
Additionally, a new patch has been released, it’s a rather small patch, but hopefully one with a big impact on performance. Especially in long Black Forest games you should see some good improvements.

I hope someday you guys to remake the first Age Of Empires
Voice-Acting?
There’s a guy I recommend in a profesional way, you can find him in Facebook as Enkeli, he talks Spanish, but im sure he talks English, you must see his graphics along with his team
He is a liar, and he hates Forgotten Empire, even he call them lazy guys.
Was banned by many communities for plagiarism.
For a new civ. i hope you choose development the Mapuche nation. They
was the only civilization that could avoid spaniard colonization trough
300 years of permanent war.
There has been a lot of talk about Africa and many people online have mentioned the Berbers/Moors and Ghana/Mali as interesting potential civs. Personally I feel so too. There has been also a lot of talk about making units look different between civs by adding different unit looks for different building styles. That would be a nice eye candy indeed, although I guess it would require a lot of work. A more personal request is adding the battle of Grunwald (1410) as a potential battles of the conquerors/battles of the forgotten/single scenario mission (it was a clash between the West… Read more »
Go checkout AOK heaven there is a awesome Grunwald scenario.

The Arminian people have been the first Christians and we were a great nation. We are forgotten because no one can even point out our home on the global
Also you never fought any battles.
They fought lot of battles against arabs, byzantines, persians and turks.
In the middle ages they were under persian or byzantines rules lot of time.
But they were independent between 885 and1064.
Thought if we have huns in the game we can have armenians too.
Sorry I meant you didn’t win any battles. Don’t get me wrong Armenians have their place in history, but more for religiuos and Kardashian reasons…not medieval military prowess.
That’s bullshit. Around 100 B.C. Armenia was the largest empire East of Rome. They absorbed the Seleucids and Parthians….They later lost a defensive against Rome, and become an ally of Pompey. Please read up a bit on history before posting retarded comments.
That doesn’t sound like the Age of Empires 2 timeline we are discussing though.
Even during the Mameluke period Armenia won many battles against the Sultans of Egypt. And was a vassal to the Mongol Empire.
We have Persians, and Saracens….Then we sure as hell can have Armenians. I don’t get your logic. It was the same time period dummy.
And in medieval times, Armenia has a Kingdom known as Cilician Armenian, they were a small kingdom and vassal of the Mongols, but although low in numbers they absolutely destroyed the Mameluke’s of Egypt in several occasions. With only a few hundred knights and a few thousand infantry they annihilated a Mameluke army of over 1000 heavy cavalry and 10,000 infantry in the battle of Sarvandik’ar. Quite impressive considering it was one small nation, in the midst of several Muslim Empires. Actually if the Mongols had actually come to their aid, there’s a fair chance the Mameluke’s could of been… Read more »
Mount Ararat is in the bible as the place Noah arrived after the flood.
Then all christians, muslims and jews must know where armenia is since all of them believe that story.
My wishlist:
Civilizations:
-Russians
-Portuguese
-Flemish (Belgium in Medieval Ages)
-Armenians
-Moors/Berebers
Campaigns:
-Saint Louis

-Robert the Bruce
-Henry the Navigator
-Flemish chronicles
Scenario/Battles:
-Grunwald
-Others that I forget xD
I applaud the continued support…it is positive and appreciated. But I think more civs may be the wrong path to take. Why not take this opportunity to improve an already existing game? Give each civ unique graphics (architecture / clothing). Improve game balance. Polish up the languages (Indians saying hello?). Even remove a couple of historically inaccurate civs such as the Goths and Huns neither of which existed in the Middle Ages. Do this first and then think about another expansion in a couple of years. You have the support from Microsoft, why not use it to improve the game… Read more »
I agree huns are not in timeframe for AOE2 they were from before the 500 years and I think adding huns were the worst error AOE did. But you are wrong about the goths they were a civilization in early middle age. They created the visigoth kingdom in Iberia and the ostrogoth kingdom in Italy. Both were after the fall of rome so both were middle ages kingdoms. And I believe adding more civs is the way to go. Specially for Africa where great empires existed in that time and are not represented in the game at all.
